RecipeList AI
This Privacy Policy explains how BrainWaveX (ABN [ABN]) (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal information when you use the RecipeList AI mobile application and related services (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
The App is operated by BrainWaveX, based in Victoria, Australia. For any privacy questions, contact us at hello@brainwavex.com. We are the entity responsible for your personal information (the “data controller” for users in regions where that term applies).
If you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive or store your full payment card details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and receive transaction identifiers and subscription state.
We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.
Some features use artificial-intelligence services (currently Anthropic’s Claude). To plan meals, generate or extract recipes, read your receipts, and suggest dishes from a fridge photo, the relevant text and images are sent to our AI provider for processing and a result is returned. We send only what is needed for the feature you are using. AI outputs (including recipes, prices and savings figures) are estimates and may be inaccurate — see our Terms & Conditions, and always verify allergens, prices and dietary suitability yourself.
We share personal information only as follows:
| Recipient | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Cloud hosting & database provider (Supabase) | To securely store your account, lists, receipts and savings data |
| AI provider (Anthropic) | To power meal planning, recipe and receipt features |
| Location & price-data providers (e.g. SerpApi, Apify) | To find nearby stores and current grocery and delivery prices |
| Subscription manager (RevenueCat) & the app stores (Apple, Google) | To process and manage subscriptions |
| Legal & safety | Where required by law, to protect rights, safety or property, or to investigate misuse |
| Business transfers | In a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy |
These providers are permitted to use your information only to provide services to us.
The App may show prices from, and link you out to, supermarket and delivery apps and websites (for example to buy items or get directions). Those services are operated by third parties under their own privacy policies and terms. We are not responsible for their content, prices, availability or practices.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. We retain certain information longer where required for legal, tax, security or dispute-resolution purposes. When you delete your account (see Section 10), we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is legally required.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your login credentials confidential.
The App is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 (or the minimum age required in your country). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We are based in Australia; if you use the App from elsewhere, your information may be processed in Australia and other countries. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal bases are performance of our contract with you, your consent (for location, camera and similar), our legitimate interests in operating and improving the App, and legal compliance; you have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, port and object, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Where the California CCPA/CPRA applies, we do not sell or “share” your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and you may exercise access and deletion rights. Contact hello@brainwavex.com to exercise any right.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). You may request access to, or correction of, your personal information. If you have a complaint about how we handle your information, contact us first at hello@brainwavex.com. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
